Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3HBRU2FPWVXNR My wife and I are very happy with this stand. This video shows how it holds a typical shave brush and Merkur safety razor. The holder is a little too narrow for the handle of the razor but held the top of the razor ok, maybe even as intended. The style and finish of the stand look great and the bowl is very convenient. Plus it arrived with a puck of Italian shave soap. I hope the review helps!

First the cons... Yes, it is a bit pricey. No, it doesn't come with the bowl. I bought the pair from a different site but it is identical. Now for the pros... It is classy. It saves space. It is functional. No longer do I have the cheap plastic brush holder and brush, razor holder and razor, and bulky shave mug cluttering the countertop of my bathroom sink. They now all fit nicely in one classy stand. It has a great nickel finish on both the stand and bowl. One really nice thing, that I wasn't counting on was, something that I can do with this bowl that I can't do with any shave mug. Now when I whip my shave soap into a lather, I can "float" the bowl in my sink full of hot water, which in turn keeps my lather nice and hot. If you are a shave enthusiast that ENJOYS shaving, and doesn't see it as a chore, this is a wonderful item or gift for a shaver. I will post pics above. Once again, the bowl does NOT come with the stand.

The wifey bought this stand as a birthday gift and I do indeed enjoy it quite well. I own an antique Gillette DE safety razor with a short handle and this brush (100% Pure Badger Bristle Shaving Brush with Black Deluxe Handle & Free Stand from Parker Safety Razor). The stand fits right inside my "me" cabinet next to my shaving soaps and bowls. I haven't used the bowl yet but I need to now that I see the picture of keeping the lather warm by floating it in hot water.The construction of the stand feels like high quality. All the welds are solid and there is no visible stress marks. The stand itself is about what you would expect it to weigh. It holds my razor well and there is a definite feel of quality when you simply glance down and look at it. Nothing shakes and the stand lays flat on the counter or shelf.The only issue I have with this stand is the brush holder. If the brush holder were even 1/8 or 1/4 of an inch wider, I believe this wouldn't be a problem, but it is. With how heavy my brush is, sometimes the brush tips to the side and bristles face to the side instead of down. Maybe it's because of my brush but not the stand, but nonetheless I was disappointed to find out that this happens, considering the price and quality of the item.I have not used the soap that came with it yet, because I currently alternate between two soaps:Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap, 2.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12)Mama Bear's America Shaving Soap Based on Dolce & Gabbana's signature fragranceBut I may have to soon.For those about to shave, we salute you.
